About | Narrow Neck Beach

Narrow Neck Beach is a small Auckland beach, great for walking the dog, exploring along the rocks, making sandcastles, swimming, kayaking and fishing. From the beach, enjoy incredible views of Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.

There is a beachfront cafe, a BBQ and picnic tables for you to enjoy some lunch. The kids can play at the small playground, shoot hoops at the basketball court, and there are toilets available.

Walk along the rocks and you might find the small track leading up to Fort Takapuna. Walk around what remains of a military past and enjoy the views of Rangitoto.

If it’s low tide, you can keep exploring along the rocks and walk all the way around to Cheltenham Beach, another great beach. From Cheltenham Beach, you can also head up to North Head Historic Reserve.

There’s a boat ramp for launching smaller vessels.
