We've made this website for other fun and adventurous families so that they, too, can enjoy New Zealand as much as we have. Northland
Kiwis love heading north to get away from the hustle and bustle and the warmer sun is always a bonus. Enjoy one of the many great, remote beaches, swim with dolphins in Paihai, go on some great walks or head right to the top of New Zealand to see the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean collide. You could easily turn this into a inexpensive getaway with so many natural family attractions. >>

Beaches, caves and waterfalls – the kids are going to love exploring this place! >>
Auckland
Auckland, a bustling city and most probably the place you’ll arrive at if you’re coming in from overseas. Stroll along the viaduct and see what’s happening or if you like a more relaxed approach, head out of the city to the surrounding areas where you’ll find fantastic beaches, little cafes and bush walks. >>
Coromandel
The Coromandel is most known for the Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach but it also offers so much more! Hike to the top of the Pinnacles for an amazing view, kayak out to Donut Island or just enjoy a day relaxing by the beach (and there are plenty of great ones to choose from!). >>
Bay of Plenty
Great beaches, walks and attractions. If you’re up for a challenge, walk 30 minutes up to Mount Maunganui to enjoy the sunset and views. >>
Rotorua
Also known as ‘Rotovegas’, Rotorua is a must do for tourists. With geothermal pools and a massive selection of attractions, theres so much to do. You could easily spend a small fortune on all of the attractions or go a different but still spectacular and more affordable route and enjoy the beautiful geothermal environment that Rotorua is known for. >>
Taupo
Inland but with New Zealand’s biggest lake – it doesn’t feel like it! There are so many cool spots to check out by the lake and activities to do on the water like seeing the impressive Maori carvings by boat or kayak. For a fun free activity, do stop in at the Spa Park. You can thank me later. >>
Waikato
Visit some caves, see the glowworms, see some pretty big waterfalls, get some family photos are the gardens and relax by the river or beach >>
East Coast / Gisborne
Come for a summer holiday and check out some of the east coast’s beaches, and put the Rere Falls on your list – a must-do while you’re there! >>
Taranaki
Come for the surf or come for the mount, both are pretty spectacular! >>
Hawke's Bay
The drive from the north to Hawke’s Bay makes you feel like you’re in another world. Hawke’s Bay is known for its orchards, vineyards and very into the art deco scene. You’ll want to check out the scenery from Te Mata Peak, have some family fun over at the Marine parade, take a photo in front of the street art and drop in for some amazing ice cream at Rush Munro’s. >>
Ruapehu
Visit the mount during the summer or winter and see it when it’s blanketed with snow or go for a walk and check out the views and some LOTR’s scenes when it dries up >>
Manawatu-Whanganui
If you have a nature-loving family then they’ll be in heaven here – loaaads of walks to choose from >>
Wellington
Wellington has lots to offer, head to the city for some shopping, hop on the ferry to check out an island, do a pretty epic coastal walk, see seals or check out one of the many attractions that Wellington has to offer. >>

West Coast Beaches
Your kids are going to love exploring the West Coast beaches – theres so much to see! Slide down the sand dunes, splash in the water and discover the rock pools. It will be a fun day out.
See the views from the Sky Tower
The Sky Tower offers 360 degree views, 220 meters above ground level. Spot the landmarks, volcanoes and other places.
Swim with the fish at Goat Island
If you love snorkelling you’re going to love this place – you’ll be able to easily spot some fish here. You can also view the fish by hiring a clear kayak or boarding the glass bottom boat.
See the Gannets at Muriwai
You’ll love getting up close to these amazing birds.
