About | Goldie Bush Walkway
The Goldie Bush Walkway is a pleasant walk set amongst native forest and goes to two lovely waterfalls. The smaller walk is super family-friendly and kids will love the Mokoroa Falls.
There are two ways you can do this walk. You can do the loop walk (4-5 hours, you can start at either Constable Road or Horsman Road) or just walk straight to the Mokoroa Falls (60-minute return, start from Horsman Road). The loop walk is more challenging, there are a few steps, you’ll have to cross the creek a few times and the track beside the creek can get very muddy after some rainfall.
The shorter walk goes gradually downhill on a well-maintained track, surrounded by bush. Walk 30 minutes and you’ll come to a viewpoint of the two small waterfalls. Walk down the steps leading down to the bottom of the Mokoroa Falls. Though small, these waterfalls are still charming. Older kids can try climbing the boulder, once up they can enjoy a nice view of the falls.
Limited parking.

We started a bit later on in the day so we chose to do the shorter walk, starting from the end of Horsman Road. After spraying and scrubbing our shoes at the Kauri dieback cleaning station, we headed down the track.
Even though the waterfall was small, it was really pretty! The walk there was really nice, too. Next time, we’d really love to check out the longer loop.
