About | Owharoa Falls
The Owharoa Falls is a popular swimming spot. Enjoy a nice refreshing dip and ‘shower’ under the pretty 6-metre waterfall. The water gets deep quite quickly so this is best for the confident swimmers. The Owharoa Falls is just a short drive away from the Karangahake Gorge so drop in if you’re nearby.
The falls here is just one of the three series of waterfalls here. The top waterfall can be seen further up Waitawheta Road.
If you’re getting hungry after all of that swimming and feel like something fancy, the Falls Retreat is just across the road, you’ll be in for a real treat. They also have a children’s menu and playground for the kids to play on.

Location
Along Waitawheta Road. Signage can be hard to see but park on the side of the road, or find parking just after the bridge and walk up.
