About | Piroa Falls
Stroll 200m (5minutes) through nature, along the Ahuroa River and end up at the gorgeous Piroa Falls. Take a break, stretch your legs, bring a picnic to feast on and take a dip in the many swimming holes – there’s something to suit everyone with a shallow and deep one. Walking along the rocks can be a bit slippery so be careful.
This is a great stop in if you’ve been on the road for a few hours. My kids loved climbing along the rocks and racing leaves down the water at the bottom of the falls.

Down Waipu Gorge Road, drive about 6km until you reach the DOC sign. Parking is on the side of unsealed road.
