About | Shakespear Regional Park – Tiritiri Track
You’ll find a beautiful cliff walk in Shakespear Regional Park, the Tiritiri Track. You can start at either end but we chose to start the walk along the beach which meant walking down from the lookout point and not up.
The track takes you along the cliff and has amazing views. When you get to the lookout point there’s an information board there that shows and names all of the places that you see – Auckland city skyline, the islands of the Hauraki Gulf and the Wenderholm and Mahurangi regional parks.
The Tiritiri Track will take about 2 hours and is 4.8km.

We set out on the most glorious day. It was warm and sunny but not too hot. Just perfect! There are so many good climbing trees at Shakespeare Regional Park that the kids just had to have a little play. Quickly pried them off and off we went to start our walk.
The walk starts of on the beach and it’s a nice way to get into it. The kids looked for shells, sticks and whatnots. The beach was looking particularly good that day.
At the end of the beach we passed the Te Haruhi Bay campground. Heading up further the track took us through paddocks full of sheep and cows. We came in spring and we delighted to see so many lambs about.
Time for a little snack. The boys know we come well prepared for our walks and like our little snack breaks. It helps encourage them on so it’s a win-win.
The views from this track were pretty awesome! It goes along the headland and we just loved how beautiful it was.
One of the reasons we came out here was to see the lambs, it’s such a great time to come here. The lambs are so playful and I love seeing their little tails wag!
