In the warmer months, head to the beach, enjoy a nice bite at a cafe or enjoy a nice stroll by the river.

During colder months, there’s hot pools, walks and biking tracks are still good, see the animals at the zoo, or check out the playground.

Many Aucklanders like to spend the day out at Port Waikato, a beautiful escape from the big city that’s not too far away. Waitomo is the place to go if you’re a huge lover of caves as there’s a few to explore in the area. There are some pretty spectacular waterfalls, gardens and history to discover, as well!
