Beautiful waterfront right by town. This place is an extremely popular spot, with people scattered all over the beach – especially in the summertime. Walkers and bikers are out on the Great Lake Walkway and tourists are lined up to get a photo in front of the #lovetaupo sign.
Bring a picnic and enjoy a day out in the sun. Great grassy areas to set up. There are just a few trees around so think about bringing your own shade.
Relax and enjoy those mountain views!

You just can’t beat a nice swim at Lake Taupo. With crystal clear water it’s hard not to want to get in. Even now that we’re back home we still dream about being back here – Taupo is blessed with some of the best swimming spots which has put Taupo on the list for next year’s summer adventures as well! Claim your spot in the stretch of sand – you’ll need to be quick on a nice summers day – this is the prime spot to be.
Dig your toes into the sand and it’ll be nice and warm! If you head towards the rocks there’s actually a spot there with super warm water – be careful – it’s hot!
