The Hamilton Zoo also has lots of farm animals you can check out. These pigs were extra cute!
We really liked seeing the monkeys. They climb so well and are really playful. We stood and watched them for a while, jump from one log to the other and all with such ease and grace.
There’s lots of cool and interesting things to learn from the information boards all around the zoo.
The walk through aviary was extra special, it was the first time the kids got to see the cheeky kea, sitting up in the trees. Would definitely be keen to go see this one again! We were also able to spot so many other birds as well as hear their beautiful bird song which was such a treat!
It’s been several years since we’ve come to the zoo, the last time was when the kids were very little. Seeing the big rhino had the kids squealing with delight.
By the rhino enclosure, you’ll find the baby southern white rhinoceros statue, which was about 10 days old. A cool photo opportunity.
The last thing we saw were the chimpanzees and I could have honestly stayed here all day, watching them interact with each other. And I think some of them were just as interested in us as we were them! They would come right up to the window, they really liked looking at themselves in mirror which was sitting on a table just behind us. So one man picked it up and brought it right up to the window, they sure did love that!
