About | Murrays Bay Jetty

The Murrays Bay Jetty is a really nice jetty, the first part is for the fishermen and then it turns into a platform that you can jump off which we thought was really cool. It’s quite high up from the water, but if it’s too high you can always go down the steps and find the perfect jumping-off point from there. Ashton was really scared about doing it at first, but after seeing Sam and a few others do it a few times he built up the courage and went for it. So proud of him!

On a calm day you can look down and see all the way to the bottom, so we all tried spotting some fish. It was quite scary peering off a platform that had no rails on the side but it was also fun at the same time.

So bring a fishing rod and some bait or your togs and a towel, whatever you choose, this is one cool jetty to hang out.

From the jetty you can enjoy some nice views of Rangitoto Island.

There are also a few little walks around the area, one going from Murrays Bay Beach to Mairangi Bay Beach, go at low tide as you’ll be walking along the rocks.

Looking down at the water below can be quite scary, just don’t get too close.

Try jumping off the steps first if you’re a beginner.
