About | Spa Thermal Park
The Spa Thermal Park is a pretty popular spot and for good reason. Every time we’re in Taupo, it’s hard not to visit. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a day of fun. You’ll need to walk here but it’s only about ten minutes away from the carpark.
When you get there you’ll find a hot stream that runs into the cold Waikato River, find the perfect temperature for you and hop right in. The natural rock pools, waterfalls and the mighty Waikato River make for the perfect surroundings. It’s wonderfully warm and relaxing.
You can also continue on from here to do the Huka Scenic walking trails or the Rotary Ride Mountain Bike Trail which follows along the Waikato River and leads to the Huka Falls.
They have a fun playground by the carpark and plenty of room to run around. There are toilets here, also.

They’ve got a really nice toilet block here, but it will be busy during peak times.
The perfect place to come and unwind!
This part was really cold as water levels were high, but another time we had come, it was a lot lower and warmer by the steps.
Walk/bike beside the river
If you’re interested in doing a little more in the area there’s a nice walking and biking track along the river.
