About | Langs Beach
Langs Beach is a beautiful white sand beach that is great for swimming and also a great fishing spot. Bring the boogie board and ride the waves in.
Langs Beach has plenty of lovely pohutukawa trees lining it that provide shelter from the sun. They also make great climbing trees.
Walk to Ding Bay along the path or go for a little explore at low tide along the rocks before reaching it. Situated on the north side of the beach. Really nice spot that you’ll probably have to yourself. Keen to explore more and walk the Waipu Coastal Walkway to Pancake Rocks where you’ll see some pretty epic rock formations that have lines going through them – and end up looking something like staked pancakes. You’ll see some of these interesting rocks at Langs Beach, as well.
Change rooms and toilets are at the south end of the beach.
There are no shops around Langs Beach so stop in at either Mangawhai or Waipu before you come or bring a picnic to enjoy on the beach.
Parking is found along the beach.

We found a spot to park, got some snacks out and the kids ran straight for the trees – they were awesome for climbing.
There’s a small stream that runs through the beach and to the ocean. It’s a fantastic place to play – especially for the little ones. The kids had a game of who could jump to the other side without touching the water. Further down, there were some other children who had successfully blocked the stream with sand and redirected it to go in another direction so the boys began their own one as well.
Though we came to this beach when the weather wasn’t that fantastic, I could totally see how this beach would have been absolutely amazing in the summer time. The water looked nice and clear and would be so inviting on a beautiful summers day.
