About | Pine Beach Campground

Come and visit the stunning Kai Iwi Lakes, just 3 hours away from Auckland and stay for the night – or a couple of nights – at the Pine Beach Campground. Located right next to the best part of Kai Iwi Lakes, experience New Zealand the kiwi way. This campground doesn’t have much, but it’s got all you need. Showers/toilets and a place to park your motorhome or set up your camping gear and all without breaking the bank.

This campground can completely book out in the busy season so if you’re keen on it, maybe book a few weeks or even months beforehand to be safe.

They have coin-operated hot showers – $2 for 5 minutes. There is a dishwashing station behind the toilet block – basically just a sink and tap with cold water. Don’t forget the dishwashing liquid and scrubbing brush.

It is a bit of a drive to any food places so bring some out with you though, a mobile food shop arrives during summer though.

No pets allowed.

We stayed at the Pine Beach Campground for the weekend just before the summer peak season. We rocked up and they told us that we could set up anywhere so we found a nice shady spot by a tree and parked the van up.

The toilet and shower block was pretty nice and did the job.

You’ll find several entry points in the bush that’ll lead you to the top of the hill for some amazing views of the lake, or head to the end of the campground and you’ll come across the track that goes along beside the lake.
