About | Mangawhai Harbour
Mangawhai Harbour is perfect for little ones to have a splash in the calm and safe water. On the other side of the harbour, you’ll see sand dunes that protect from the waves beyond it. This is a great place to swim, fish and boat. Go for a kayak across the harbour to the sand dunes for an explore. There can be strong currents with the tide coming in and out, strong swimmers can enjoy swimming against it. And you’ll find lots of shade under the pohutukawa trees to rest under after.

It was a beautiful day and we were eager to get into the water and go for one last swim before the seasons changed, and what a great place to do it. Noah got into making a sandcastle, Sam swam out deeper and spotted a few fish and Ashton walked off to a jetty and jumped off while I enjoyed some time sunbathing and reading a book.
After a swim, we headed off for an explore and ended up at a jetty. We saw a few kids walk to the end and jump off, the perfect place to jump in, Ash had a go too. There were also some other kids there with their grandparents, fishing. We watched for a while and saw them bring in a few little ones.
